Six

Abby turned six this week. She got to celebrate three different days. On Friday, she got to take snacks to kindergarten. On Saturday she got to go on a date with Mom, open part of her presents, blow out candles, eat cake, and have a movie night. On Monday, her big birthday present arrived:
On Sunday the tracking information said it would be here by Wednesday, on Wednesday, it said Thursday, On Thursday it said Friday, On Friday it said Monday, and it really came! It's a little big for her, but she quickly got the hang of it. She really likes the bell.

Abby is such a great girl. Here are six things about her I don't want to forget.

1. She always tries her best. At school the kids can run laps for a marathon program. If they get enough laps, they get to run the last mile of the marathon at the high school. The kindergarteners are only required to run 13 miles to qualify, but Abby decided she'd rather do the whole thing. Last time I checked, she was at 24 miles! (Her teacher told me about this at parent teacher conferences.)

2. She is very responsible and likes to follow the rules. She remembers everything.

3. She loves school and has learned how to read this year. She is working hard at getting to 150 AR points. She loves her teacher and especially loves her 3rd grade "bucket pal."

4. She doesn't like missing out on the fun stuff going on at home when she's at school. She wants to meet all of Brinly and Jordan's friends and classmates.

5. Abby is very sensitive and emotional. She likes to help other people feel better when they're hurt and feels very bad when she hurts other people's feelings.

6. Her favorite outfits are still dresses and still pink and purple. She will wear pants occasionally on P.E. days or when it's really, really, cold, but I have to talk her into it.

We're so glad Abby's in our family!
